It's Been Awhile

Hi to All,

It's been some time since I posted last. It's easy to get out of the habit of posting, especially when I was lazy about it in the first place! I will begin with an oldie, but goodie photo.

Anyway, we are at the beach, and loving it! Our friends Amy, Brooke and Henson came to play for a few days and we are really having a blast!

Anna Kate is growing so big! She is very wise beyond her 2 years. I feel as if these moments are just passing me by, so they need to be recorded!

My First Haircut

Uncle Richard and Uncle Bill decided that I had a "rat tail" mullet. Upon further discussion, they also condluded that it was the Oneonta in my blood that was the culprit for my redneck hair do. Well, needless to say, my mommy would not have it! She took me to get my mullet trimmed. Have a look at the pics.........

My first PAINTS

Hey Yall,

Graness bought me some paint for Christmas. What fun! Its been awhile since i posted, but its because i have been so busy coloring and pulling stuff out of cabinets and making messes and such. My friend Ella came over this past weekend and we had a blast. We always do. I got a new car that she just loved. We both decided it would be more fun if we both rode at the same time, so our mommies found us both sitting in it together. I love Ella!

Bad Santa!

Birthday Girl!

I really cannot believe that Friday is my sweet precious baby girl's birthday. We had a bash on Sunday, we are still reeling! It took us two weeks to get ready for this absurd party for a one year old. The petting zoo was the biggest hit. There were baby llamas, baby African miniature cows???, pigmy goats. It was awesome. Anna Kate loved it so much. I expected her to have no clue about what was going on, but she was such a big girl. She loved every minute of it. GrandBud gave her a red wagon and we pulled Ella, Henson and AK around the living room. So funny. Henson (Amy's baby) poked AK in the eye and she was pissed! Ella (Christy's baby) decided to kick back and throw her leg up over the side - so Christy of her! She had a fabulous day. I can't believe she is growing so fast.

Santa's Helper!

Big Daddy brought me a gift from the Wynn - This Elf Outfit! I look adorable in it even though the hat is a little much. He also brought me an Anne Geddes Baby Doll to match my dress. Nana came over and I tried it on. My mommy even said I might wear it to my First Birthday Party - without the hat it looks like a princess dress.

On another note - I am very close to walking. I am so active - it's hard for me to go to sleep at night! I love to throw my head back and fall into the covers like a drunk person. My GrandBud calls me Virgil because I remind him of an old friend of his that was bad to drink! I think its funny so I continue to throw myself around on the bed just to get attention. I love attention, by the way!

Ain't Life Grand?

Mommy and Daddy took me to the Grand Hotel in Point Clear and I had such a great time! Every day at 4 pm we marched in a parade and watched some men dressed as soldiers shoot a cannon! I wasn't even afraid of the loud noise. My favorite part was when Daddy got a bicycle with a baby seat in the back and the three of us rode bikes around the hotel grounds. We were such dweebs, but I loved it! We also went to the pool, but the Love Bugs are so bad down there, they flew in my mouth, so we didn't stay long.
One night, Mom and Dad took me to the Wash House to eat (Robert Yarborough's restaurant). It was delicious even though we were there at 5:30 for the Early Bird Special. We always go to eat early in order to avoid me having a melt down. Later that night, I got sick, so Mommy brought me home on Friday - Pooh! All in all, I had a wonderful time. I really love to travel! I was even good in the car while I was not feeling well.

Gameday!!

Yesterday, my mommy invited some friends over to watch football, and I had a blast! My friend Ella came over to watch Auburn (war eagle, daddy - I am a little tiger), and we had a smashing time. Smashing meaning we like to take our toys and smash them against each other's heads. Also, I really liked pulling Ella's hair. It is so pretty, I just had to touch! Here is a photo of Ella trying to punch my eyes out. What fun!!!

My mommy didn't want to cook and hold me at the same time, so we had a chef come and fix yummy treats. Ella and I even got to sample the creme brulee. I loved it, but Ella - not so much! She turned me on to YoBaby and I gave her some Nilla wafers. That YoBaby stuff is like crack - I couldn't get enough!

9 months old and I'm in JAIL!

I can't believe that Anna Kate is already nine months old! We are definitely going through the mommy attachment phase. Anna Kate constantly wants to be held and thinks that her mommy his her BFF. Even when she is in her playpen, she is begging to be released! Although, in this photo, she looks pretty happy in there, huh?

I keep reminding myself that this is a phase. Someday, I will wish for these days again!

We went for her 9 month checkup yesterday. Everything is great - she had her eyes checked and her toe pricked. She handled it like a champ!

Anna Kate and Nanny

My mommy took me to visit our Nanny last week, and I had so much fun! Nanny played with me and gave me a beautiful sterling food pusher to help me when I eat! We played "This Little Piggy", and Nanny put a blanket in her floor so that I could crawl around and explore.
My Nanny is so neat, she has done so many fun things. She loves to read and has traveled the world. I love for her to tell me stories about herself. I am so lucky that I am getting to know my great grandmother, and I love her very much.

Our Beach Baby

Anna Kate's First Trip to the beach! It took us 2 hours to get ready to go down, and we stayed for about 10 minutes! At least we got these adorable photos!

I love my dolly, or do I ?????..........

Anna Kate can't decide if she loves her doll that Grandmommy gave her for Christmas, or if she Hates it. She loves to play in her crib (she doesn't sleep there, though). She tries and tries to get the doll to play with her. Anna Kate touches it and grabs at its little face, but when it doesn't respond, she gets so mad!!!!!
On another note, our baby was twelve weeks old yesterday. I think I'm gonna live! She is such a good baby, our only problem lately is sleep. We still do not get enough of it. She does not like to nap longer than about 20-30 minutes at a time, giving her mommy minimal time to do anything else!

The Baby is Spoiled Already!

Being a new mommy is really hard! Besides worrying about me all the time, my mom really never gets anything done. Especially because I won't let her put me down. I guess thats what being a mom is all about! Otherwise, I am a really good baby. I just won't take a nap unless someone is holding me. I weigh 8 lbs now and am a little piggy! I love to eat.

Thank Heaven for Grandparents and Great Aunts

This is Anna Kate's nursery. Great Aunt Cathy in Dallas made the beautiful bedding for us. The skirt is pink and ivory silk - it matches the curtains. The bumper is calico and pink matelasse with a wide eyelet ruffle. The ties are satin ribbons.
The Moses basket is a gift from Grandparents Anna and Dick (or Nana and Big Daddy). The wallpaper was hung by Grandparents Glinda and Buddy (or Grandmommy and Grandbud).
Our changing table is an antique sideboard with carved roses. Grandmommy and Grandbud refinished and painted it for us. The roses are antiqued and the hardware is washed with blue. Nana is working on a bunny painting for us to hang above!
